Arthouse contemporary has announced a special online auction for Olumide Oresegun, the young Nigerian artist who enjoyed a sudden media buzz online for his hyperrealist paintings in March.
Olumide Oresegun, best described as a figurative artist paint subjects from his local community, like his neighbors, friends, and siblings. “Through these figurative portraits, his work elevates the routine environment to reveal the transcendence of the every day.” He combines technicality and precision in portraying his subject using water as a dominant element. He is a graduate of the Yaba College of Technology.
Bidding takes place on www.arthouse-ng.com for three days starting at 12 PM on June 23, 2016, until 6PM on June 26, 2016. Interested buyers / collectors will have the option to bid live on the website.
Arthouse Contemporary will host a reception to launch the online auction on the opening day, June 23, 2016, from 6-9 PM, at the Renault Showroom, 43B Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos. The original paintings will be on display at the launch as well as the artist.
