In its continuous search for innovative and artistic ideas that highlight social issues, African Artists’ Foundation presents another curated exhibition titled Save the Data with works by David Palacios on June 12th, 2016 in Lagos. The exhibition features works in a body of development by the artist since 2012, which is part of his project “Art Report”. This project juxtaposes art codes with statistical information and news.

Palacios takes as a reference, issues on the global and Nigerian agenda such as the global economy, international investment, oil prices, military spend, societal issues and poverty levels, and then presents them with an interdisciplinary approach in works that at first glance seem like innocuous graphics and reports.

The exhibition will include graphics-paintings, digital prints, installations and videos that take a critical look at models of representation of the information industry using visual news and agency mechanisms.

Opening Reception: June 12, 2016.

Venue: Omenka Gallery, 24, Modupe Alakija Crescent, Ikoyi, Lagos.

Time: 6pm
