Kolade Oshinowo, master painter and portraitist is known for consistently producing aesthetically pleasing, yet thought-provoking, and engaging works that draw the viewer in as a participant rather than an admirer. For over four decades, his impact in the Nigerian art landscape as an artist, teacher, and administrator has been a source of inspiration and direction for many.
Terra Kulture presents works from Oshinowo in an exhibition, CHANGING TIMES. The theme of this exhibition expresses the diversity in the collection in this exhibition as well as the moments in our history as a people and a nation. The art has remained constant in our socio-economic equilibrium, strongly expressing our vibrant culture while attracting foreign interest and demands.
CHANGING TIMES is a collection of works that will provide an insight into Oshinowo’s rich artistic tapestry with innovations that marks a new dawn in the contemporary Nigerian Art. For this collection, he made use of various painting media to express himself on a wide range of subject matters that ranges from, social, political, economic, religious, environmental and cultural; having subliminal messages that require ardent attention.
Opening on the 17th of September, CHANGING TIMES will feature over 50 paintings and drawings.
