Multimedia artist Ngozi Schommers presents a new body of work at contemporary art space, Rele Gallery in February.

Schommers in her current body of work titled “We Are Not Welcome Here” represents millions of refugees or displaced persons, and stories of discrimination in different contexts around the world. Her works are fragments of day to day human existence ranging from political, religious to social economic ideas and the aesthetics of the form she deplores in exploring these situations.

The curator of the exhibition, Jude Anogwih says of her work, “Her influences are multiple but mainly experiential and existential encounters and factors such as aftermaths and retrospections.

Beneath the unusual mixed media presentation of confetti figures, photography, paintings and drawings are questions about the world we live in today. Join Ngozi Schommers at the opening to find out.
