The Kuenyehia Trust for Contemporary Art is calling for applications from emerging and mid-career artists working in different media (such as painting, drawing, sculpture, digital painting, illustration and photography) to apply for its 5th edition of the Kuenyehia Prize for Contemporary Art.
For the first time since the inception of the prize, applications are open to artists beyond Ghana to neighbouring West Africa countries in the age range of 25 and 40. Winners and runners-up of this year’s prize stand to benefit from a prize worth $10,000 including cash, art supplies, personal development, business training and mentorship.
Professors El Anatsui and Ablade Glover, Richard Scott, and Gbenga Oyebode are among judges of the last four editions. Previous winners and shortlisted artists include Yaw Owusu (winner of the last edition), Bright Ackwerh, Efo Sela Adjei, Isshaq Ismail, Fredrick Botchway, Theresa Ankomah.
