Hello readers!

Welcome to our Summer Editions page! We are pleased and excited to share this first edition with you. When we think of summer, a number of things come to mind: Sunlight, fun, holiday & travel, colours, beachfront, adventure and more thrilling things.

In this edition titled ‘Sun, Colours & Funky Feeling!’, we are channelling the vibe of the season to create light, easy, artsy reads for July and August.

Together with twelve writers from around Africa, we delve into different art scenes on the continent and its diaspora to keep you engaged until summer ends. Our focus includes profiles of artists such as Athi-Patra Ruga, a South African multi-disciplinary artist who creates and utilizes alternate realities to address socio-political realities; features on places like Benin City in Nigeria where the local art scene is thriving beyond bronze casting, with emerging artists working in new and experimental art forms.

Our adventure also takes us to Ngor Island in Dakar, Accra, Marrakech, Paris, New York and London for exciting stories.

Places to visit, what we are reading and listening to, quirky interviews, photo essays as well as features spotlighting design and virtual reality, accompanied with stunning visuals are on the line-up.

Walk with us this summer wherever you are, one feature at a time.

Enjoy. Comment. Share.
